I can't even believe how much Ireland loves ballet class. She goes every Monday from 4:30-5:30. Since her first class this summer, she has been hooked. This Monday night was her first recital. It was at the Missouri Theater downtown. She was so excited!!
Her dance company was pretty strict about what to wear and how to fix your hair; tight bun on top of your head. After three tries, I called us good enough. Ireland even asked for hairspray like the big girl ballerinas. I promise it looked a little better than this "after performance shot."
At first, I thought she would be totally freaked seeing the audience and lights, but she sure did prove us all wrong.
Cohan was such a good brother. He wanted me to pick him up early from school so we could get her flowers. He waited so patiently for her performance to begin...
When Ireland came on to the stage, all the little girls were wearing Santa hats... except Ireland. I asked her after why and she told me she faked cried so she didn't have to wear one. I asked her why she would do that. Her response? They messing up my ballerina bun!!!
She did a tap and baton number and looked adorable in both.
She was so happy to get flowers from Cohan. She loved having us, Nanny, Papa H, Aunt Molly, Sofia and Aunt Betsy there. The rest of the family will join for her big Spring performance in May where she gets to do a father/daughter dance with Daddy and has a special costume.
Ireland Noreen, we couldn't have been prouder of you!! XXOO
